Omen of the Ancient, Volume I has been cleared for release among all major platforms! It should take a few days for the album to actually show up, and I may have to make some adjustments to the listings. I don't know how pricing is going to work yet on all the different platforms. It's clear I'm going to have to align it somehow. The pricing on this website will be temporary until I can gauge what the average is for the whole album. But I have now uploaded the mastered files in MP3 format. I should eventually have WAV format available. Please let me know if there is demand for this, as it will likely change what I'm focusing my time on.
Just to review the album, it is comprised of 20 tracks, spanning about 94 minutes. It covers the first 30% percent of the book, though I do not have a song for absolutely every event or plot point. For example, I found it profoundly difficult to write a song covering the important events of the Sunrise Festival, as these occur over multiple days. I then attempted to make a song purely about Philos's escape from Stalworth, but the amount of context needed to properly introduce him made the song less enjoyable. It made far more sense to scatter the breadcrumbs in earlier tracks and involve him fully in song 16 (Burning Omen Red). There are also important dream sequences in the story that would be difficult to appreciate or understand in music form, so I left that content out. I also reached the limit in length for the first album, while still desiring to introduce Helskor right at the end to catch the attention of listeners as the plot starts to unfold. The second album will pick up right where this left off. The second album should be coming out in a few weeks. There are a few adjustments I still need to make to the music, and I also need to finish the lyric booklet for the album. The album cover itself has been finalized. I also plan to show a sneak peek of the next album in development on the music page so that the listeners will know what comes next. Stay tuned!
